Dunny Madness

Dunny’s one of the many successful signature vinyl toys from KidRobot, a company founded Paul Budnitz in 2002. KidRobot’s not a typical toy shop, it does its job of capturing the niche market really well. They put out collectible toys (like the Dunnys, Munnys, Labbits, and more) and collaboration toys with various renown artist around the world.

They didn’t stop there.

They have 4 stores in the States and one in UK, selling exclusive apparel and toys. Aside from some Dunny toys you find at Urban Outfitters, they keep their products really limited, exclusive, and expensive. I’m a fan. but apparently I’m not the only one, there are $8 million others out there.

There was a sale on KidRobot things a few days ago, Kevin took the opp. and snatched up a few goodies.

↑ These aren’t it. They’re part of Kevin’s DIY Might Mugg collections.

He molded the mask himself. Props.

↑ For you Avatar fan boys, this one’s not for sale. (I think)

↑ A wall full of Mighty Muggs. Seems like a good play by Hasbro, a toy and boardgame company, to make them. I’m sure it must’ve cost a fortunate to sign contracts with Marvel, Star Wars…etc.

Finally, here are the goods. He grabbed 5 of them for $20ish.

↑ Most 3″ Dunnys are sold in, what they call, “blind assortments,” where you don’t know which one you’d get till you open them. Distributions of the designs are printed on the sides of the box.

My favorite part.

↑ ?/?? item?!

↑ Kevin didn’t really like this guy too much. I don’t blame him.

Super cool.

↑ My first time seeing a transparent Dunny.

Our favorites.

↑ End up getting two of the same thing. Fear not, cool thing about collectible items is that there will always be a market for trade.

’til next time,
