I’ve done a few designs here and there back in highschool, but I never thought my hobbies would end up becoming something this serious. Things happened by fortunate encounters.
The first spark of TIZ happened in summer 2006. I just graduated from high school. As the best procrastinator in my family, I missed the deadline to sign up for dormitory(plus, Davis accepted wayyy too many people) . I received a cold email from UCD telling me that there’s simply no space left for me, so with a few links of some apartments attached, they wished me the best of luck and hoped to see me in the upcoming school year.
WTF.

Ok, things are going to speed on abit from here, cuz I’m getting tired.

Luckily, Edward Flores, a friend that was a Sophmore at UCD at the time, was willing to bring me up to Davis to search for a shelter. On the way to Davis, I met Jules Cruz, who later happened to become the first person to motivate me to start a club/clothing line. Her friend, Alex Kang, then became my housemate. Alex’s a true business man, smart guy, and the president of Davis Motosports Club. He discovered the silo screen printing course, which became TIZ’s first unofficial manufracturing plant.
Fall quarter started, I met Kyle Yang(, Helen Lu, Ka-tye Koo in my Math class.
