Just this past weekend, [Cody] and I took a trip down to Vegas for their Annual CES – Consumer Electronics Show, where hundreds of industry related companies gather to showcase their latest technology that are almost ready to launch for the consumer market.
It was a closed event – every attendee must register and provide an industry affiliate badge enable to get into the show. To register at the door would’ve cost us hundreds, but we got it months before during its promo period for free (Got the updates via slickdeal.) – no wallets were harmed during the during the registration of this event.
Cody came by Friday (skipped a few classes) and we were JUICED. Here’s what went down:
The must-packs for this trip.
↑Vegas’ known for their spectacular night life and view. I don’t usually bring tripods for trips, but thought I’d put it to use for this one (yet, we never used it). Through this packing, I realize I’m a big fan of black. It’s a safe color.
Skipped lunch.
↑Ready to “roll”.
↑Joey was suppose to join us, but he got caught with a few person business that he couldn’t leave town. Sorry, Joey.
↑Waiting at the airport- our flight was delayed.
We got our deals via Orbits. To keep the cost low, we chose a stopover flight with Jet Blue.
Never noticed till now that they have different patterns for their fin.
Also, turns out they have one of the best snacks I’ve ever tasted.
I’d munch bags of these. any day.
Up in the air – photo cred: Cody.
↑Stopped at Long Beach waiting for transfer. Many familiar faces from the last flight, seems like we weren’t the only that traded time for money.
Round 2: Long Beach -> Las Vegas!
↑ The only long and pointy across the horizon was where we stayed – Stratopshere.
↑A must have picture of this sign for any Vegas related post – Photo cred: Cody.
↑Stratosphere! Looks cool, except we didn’t actually stay in the tower-tower, but the MUCH shorter building they have next to the tower.
A quick view of what to expect on the top of the tower – 108 stories above ground.
Anyway, back to our room. They didn’t provide a toothbrush nor toothpaste. So, I called in to request some, here’s what they gave me:
Great.
Too excited for sleep – spent a few hours around the Casino. Not much picture taken, they prefer us not to shoot when we gamble. Even if they allowed, I wouldn’t have – My hands were way too busy wiping tears off my face.
↑Pai Gow was a fun game. Not as fun as poker, though. ha
’til tomorrow,
