CES 2011 – Vegas – Last Day

Final day at CES. 9AM – 3PM as oppose to the regular 9-6. We have 3 hours less, but an entire hall to explore. It’s got a lot personal computers/audio/and digital imaging and storage stuff. It was pretty entertaining.

The last hall:

It’s got 4 sections, here we go!

Skullcandy had a quick giveaway.

↑Would’ve been sweet if I got a pair of their in ear headphones, instead..

We both got a bandanna.

They also had an artist designing album covers on the spot:

↑Looks like fun, I think I’m going to give it a try in the future.

Lots of headphone companies were here. I would’ve been SUPER excited before my [last purchase]. Now that I have my own “Marshall Major.” I’m in Zen status.

↑We all know Sennheiser’s an excellent brand.

↑I didn’t know they have headphones this BIG.

↑Speaking of the devil.

↑The same company also produces Urban Ears (can be purchased via Urban Outfittiers, I think.)

Then, there’s Audio Techinca:

↑ That’s right.

Super cool booth:

↑Looks like glasses, but I never went inside – there were just too many other booths left to check out.

↑100% electrical vehicle. *yawns* When do I get to see a floating vehicle?!

This looked really interesting:

↑Cordless guitar.

This, too, looked very interesting:

↑The company produces 2 different types of cards: one like above, allow user to embed passwords before each use. The second card they have was able to link multiple accounts into – making it really convenient for those that have multiple banks and multiple cards.

Robot time:

Solar backpack that can charge your phone/devices on the go!

USPS was here too.

↑Sidenote: ship EVERYTHING with a tracking number – it’s quite likely that they’d lose things without tracking.

They were very generous – given us cars to listen to their 2 minute speech.

Yahoo’s got a cool booth:

↑ Really eye catching – the only PURPLE booth through out the hall.

Cell phone carriers were there:

↑Sidenote: ready for iphone x verizon, guys? hah

Massages – clever to have a booth at CES. My back’s been sore since day 1. This would’ve been a relief. Too bad I can endure pain more than money out of my pocket.

Skype was in the building – allowing us to make free calls, too:

Their latest tele-communicator.

↑Look at the size of that thing. It’s got a USB, too?

3M’s awesome:

↑Wipe your mouth. It was a bit hard to control, but we indeed played SC II via a multi-touch screen.

↑They also have the best multi-touch screen, in my opinion, through out the whole convention.

quick lunch:

↑Tasted like wires. just playing, it was delectable.

↑Cody’s favorite item. Blackberry Playbook. Compatible with flash – dual camera, both shoots 1080p. HDMI output. A cool little device.

↑Hard to believe. Well, I suppose not to hard. BUT DYAM, TASERS?!?!

After CES, we spent some time on the strip. Spending the very last moments taking photos.

↑Coca Cola’s got scented t-shirts. Or maybe Cody’s just a creep.

Overall, I think it was definitely a worth while event. However, don’t expect to get your mind blown from the things you see. Often time, majority of the products displayed at the show are already in the consumer market. or at least we already have a good idea of what they do and how they function.

Good thing the show was held in Vegas – lots of side entertainment for the time when the show’s closed (after 6PM.) I’m just not sure if I’m the enthusiast that would come back strictly for the show itself. But yea, with added incentives, I don’t mind coming back again (register months before the show can save you some money.)

Weekend well spent.

’til next adventure,
