Danville -> Haight -> Booksmith

Elain, the eldest cousin from my dad side of the family. She came for a quick visit from LA.

Her next stop was Danville. Very nice place.

My brother and I decided to swing by Haight, SF after.

Ah, the good ol’ San Francisco. No overcast.

Haight street’s known for its abundant street culture. Stussy, Kidrobot, FTC..you name it. I come here often to check-out the latest street wear and it’s a shame that actually never paid attention to this place till today:

A bookstore located in the middle of the strip.

I love its authenticity and personal touch that they’ve done to the place.

All the categorical signs were hand painted!

Ah, helvetica.

Here’s a little fact about TIZ:
Way back before I was exposed to Typography, I knew nothing about Helvetica (The font’s so legendary, there’s even a film about it). Through out the default fonts I had, I was really attracted to the Arial, which turned out to be the font type for The Imaginary Zebra. (I wonder how many designer supporters I’ve just lost by admitting that.)

Then, few years later, I learned that Arial’s really just a slight modification version of Helvetica by Microsoft. By 2009, I’ve altered the logo font type. Much better.

Now you know, don’t make the same mistake I did.

Still work in progress.

Met up with the sis.

Allen got a new pair of Adidas.

Good day.
