A lot of my friends have been long term TIZ supporters. Every once in awhile, I would hand deliver some of the shirts to them. Catch up for a quick bit and enjoy some sun along the way. My brother also wanted to swing by Berkeley for a bit, so it was a good opportunity for me to take some shots outside and grab some inspirations for Series 5 & 6. (Series 4 are ALMOST ready. )
Anyway, there were quite a few shirts to deliver:
Shipping out the last batch of Vday orders that were placed earlier today.
1st stop’s eric:
Got the swag of a boss behind the counter.
2nd’s Mindy’s.
Mindy’s the sales rep for TIZ around Bay Area. Both her [rockthesole] and Rolo [dunksrnice] have been helping TIZ out tremendously since way back. If you didn’t already know, I met Rolo when I first came to U.S. for 8th grade. Fun fact: he was all about cars before sneakers and photography.
↑Surprise shot!
Next stop, Justine and Jameson:
Long time! Jameson was one of the first members of Urban Art Club, where TIZ all started.
↑Like always, still got the biggest smile.
Brother wanted to swing by Eudemonia – an internet cafe with board games and magic cards.
While he was in Eudemonia, I dropped by HPB:
↑They might not have the fullest collection of books, but they do have good deals on some rare books. If you look deep enough, you’d find treasures. Kevin [Han-Chia] introduced me to this place.
I picked this up:
↑ “Narita Inspected” for $27 – Some folks are selling this book up to 70-80 bucks on Amazon?!
I haven’t been able to spark an “AH!” moment by browsing through graphic design books recently. Perhaps they all look too similar or too experimental – nothing extraordinary. But this book really hit the spot – I admire the creativity and style the Japanese artists bring to the table.
↑Is it just me, or do things that have Japanese written on it shout quality? This made me think about how important brand image is, even for a country let alone a business. What do you think about when you see something’s “Made in Germany” and “Made in China”? better yet, what do you think people would associate things that are “produced by YOU”?
On the way back, I saw:
Zebras all over.
↑This is no joke. Disclaimer: this is not my car. But man, my logo would blend right in.
More of the book:
Time flies.
’til next time,
