Not sure about you, but I certainly couldn’t pass on fresh oysters, especially when it’s only a buck each. While I was walking along Embarcadero few weeks back, I told Jim about the weekly deals Hog Island offers. Apparently, he couldn’t resist, neither.
Took a short break from work for some oyster goodness. I’ve posted about Hog Island once before, but since the deal has been changed, thought I’d update you guys.
You know one of those epic photos where birds would propel their wings amongst the man like a scene in the movies? We saw a flock of them chilling in the middle of a plaza and wanted to recreate that moment – I had my camera ready and Jim ran towards the pigeons..
Turns out, the birds in the city don’t get scared easily. In fact, they don’t even give a crap about our puny existence. They just took a side step and let Jim run right through.
San Francisco has some of the most original buildings.
↑Could never get tired of taking picture of the bridge.
There’s always a line. I’d say be here around 30 minutes before 5.
Jim couldn’t bear the hunger and got himself a quick snack.
Hog Island has happy hour every Monday & Thursday from 5-7PM.
Here’s the update – they’ve raised the price. It’s no longer dollar oyster, it’s dollar x 30% EXTRA oysters. not. cool.
Since we’re here, we still decided to stuff ourselves with it. ( Now that I think of it, we probably should’ve just drop by some other restaurants, instead. )
Oysters served.
Slightly smaller than what I remembered, but good and fresh nonetheless.
The city.
I’m going to live there one day.
