New York Trip – Last Day

I’m starting to feel that 5-day vacations are way too short ( like the Mexico Cruise and Japan trip) – but with mountain of work lined up ahead of us, a quick break like this will suffice. We visited quite a few places during this visit, now we gotta finish up strong for the last day!

↑ Kailin nailed the pedo smile.

Lunch again as first stops. We no longer have the drive of waking up early (since like..day 2.) And it’s been pleasant knowing that we’re gana stuff our faces before we do any walking.

↑ This place’s pretty bomb. Heard they were featured by the food network? Kailin and Kevin recommended it.

It’s located in East village. A very small shop next to plenty of other restaurants.

↑ As you can see, it’s got a bunch of props and tools hang on the walls to create the authentic essence of the place. They’re known for their seafood sandwiches.

A rather plain menu:

↑ First time coming to this place, not totally blown away by the wall decoration and maybe slightly shocked by their high-priced menu items.

We’re talking about $17 for a lobster sandwich?! That’s more than what I spend for lunch and dinner COMBINE. But since it’s a vacation, I ordered the “Taste of Maine” ($21, feeling like a BOSS,)  which is half crab sandwich, half shrimp sandwich, half lobster sandwich, chips, drink, and crab claws.

Here’s what it is.

↑ First impression, the portion’s a little small.

and before we grub on this epic meal, we chose a close by park to make it happen.

↑Peeps were pretty friendly there.

And here it is, moment of truth:

It was like..

A BITE OF HEAVEN. The sandwich was SUPER goood! Fresh ingredients stuffed before the crunchy garlic and butter toasted bread. I think I almost passed out cuz it was so dam good.

Just look at him..

I don’t think I’d be able to afford this place on a daily bases, but if I got a chance, I’ll definitely go back. It’s making me hungry just by looking at the pictures..and I just finished dinner, too.

A few store next to Luke’s Lobster is Butter Lane, a unique cupcake shop:

I’m not too big of sweet dessert person, so I’ll just let pictures do the talking:

Very interesting marketing strategy:

↑Like them on facebook or follow them on twitter get a free icing shot.

↑Kevin’s master the pedo smile. Tony’s good at spotting cameras.

↑ Yup, he was there.

Quick swing by NYU, like Academy of Arts and other city campuses, their buildings are scattered across the place.

↑Logo designed by Chermayeff & Geismar. The same people that designed the logo for National Geographic, Mobil gas, Xerox, Chase, NBC, and Public Broadcast Service just to name a few. Ah, you see.

The biz school of Stern.

Washington Square Park.

Street artist that was pretty entertaining..and flexible.

Back to SoHo once again – the place we visited the most. Can’t say no to Uniqlo.

↑ Lucky for us, Air France had a moving kitchen on the street of SoHo passing out their “first class” finger food. Interesting way to promote the air line. They didn’t tell us anything about their air craft or how many spots across the world we could ride with them, instead, they gave us a taste of their in flight dishes.

“Taste the Journey” campaign. Definitely left an impression.

↑Pretty good.

“Direction isn’t always obvious.”

LEICA!

↑…which was closed by the time we got there…  There’s always next time.

Quick dessert stop – food food food.

Gelato on a stick + nuts + chocolate = Popbar.

Cool concept.

Chocolate on a stick – comes with hot milk.

“Inspired”

Before we know it, dinner time.

Genuine Japanese restaurant.

↑Spicy Tuna.

Stuffed. I wasn’t joking when I said that my kids will be obese because of how much I ate for this trip.

*It’s been a fulfilling 5 day vacation at NYC. Toured lots and ate lots. Thanks again to all the friends that suggested places to visit (really opened my eyes with the places you guys recommended, though, there are a crap load more to visit next time I visit NY) And of all, BIG thanks Kailin and Kevin for letting us crash at your place and bringing us around town. You guys are great hosts 😉

Good times, so long NYC. ’till next time.
