Let’s face it, Mac’s built in speakers just can’t do the job when it comes to group entertainments. Don’t get me wrong, they do a superb job when I’m by myself. In a quiet room.
After watching a few movies with a couple of friends, I realize it was only a matter of time before I see myself getting a set of external speakers. Then thanksgiving came around, I found these babies on sale for $30 (Original: $100) from TigerDirect.
Here’s what I got:
Cool things about this speaker:
1. It’s a set of 360 degree projection speakers = you’d get the same amount of music anywhere around it(if it’s place in the center of a room) as compare to ordinary speakers where if you stood behind it, you’d hear less of the sound.
2. It’s powered by USB. No need to find another outlet.
3. It comes with a remote.
4. It supports AUX on the speaker itself. (external players: MP3 players, iPod..etc)
Look at this delicate remote.
I don’t like these batteries, but hey, this was their way to make the remote so tiny.
The cords came with velcro as compare to the other stuff to tie things down. – plus.
AUX input.
AUX extension cord.
The new set up.
Another pro: It can be powered by USB hubs, too. It doesn’t have to connect to the laptop directly.
Con: The audio doesn’t switch automatically, I have to change the option if I wanted to use it.
Another con: It doesn’t have much Bass.
Overall, I think this is a set of pretty decent speakers. But if you like to crunk or just feel too lazy to change settings, then these are not for ya.
