Thai Temple – Brunch @ Berkeley

A quick break for Sunday afternoon. My sister told me about this Thai Temple located in South Berkeley, with reenforcement of high feedbacks from Yelp. thought we give it a try. Words on the streets, it’s free on Sunday, but accept donations. Intrigued, time to go.

Told to come early before the food runs out, but still ended up dropping by around 12:30.

↑The place was filled. Seem ordinary enough when we drove by, there’s a whole ‘nother world in its back yard.

Extravagant:

The place was way packed.

Interesting system. First thing you do when arrived is to exchange cash with tokens (they can refund back to cash, if you didn’t use all of your tokens) 1 buck a token – so the dishes ain’t exactly inexpensive.

The currency:

The peeps:

After waiting in the line for a good 20 minutes, we realized that they ran out of non-vegetarian dishes. What we deserved to swinging by late in the afternoon.

The glory.

↑ Turn out, although the donation’s optional, the staff still ask you on the spot. With the pressure of them staring you, it’s hard not to provide the exact amount. So the dish you see was 6 bucks.

Beef noodle soup, don’t remember the price.

↑ha. ha.

The back yard of this place was enormous. Almost seen as if they combined four backyards into one.

They even have a little garden:

↑guy with Rollei.

Interesting place, might bring a friend or two to check it out.

’til the next special diner,
