TIZ x Sae x Fashionably Live Fashion Show

I’m about 2 days late on this event, my bad.

Background:
Awhile back, TIZ was invited to Center Court for one of their annual events – Fashionably Live, where a bunch of local designers would gather and display their collections on the catwalk to help raise mulah for the Salvation Army.

During the preparation, few weeks before the show, I met a young and talented textile designer from UC Davis. Her name is Sandy Hsieh/Sae. I was really impressed by the professionalism of her work and passion for what she does, so I had to ask her to hop on board to collaborate with TIZ for this show. She humbly accepted.

It was TIZ’s first collabo fashion show. And it was one heck of a show.

Here’s what happened:

In Sac.

We gathered for dinner. I think one key element for great team work is to be comfortable with your partners – what can be more comfortable than enjoying curry side by side with a group of peeps that you’ve spent the past few weeks together rehearsing over the same. dam. songs. with?

The backstage: filled.

We were given a good 20 minutes(which is a good amount, knowing there’s a dozens of other designers) for final rehearsals.

Thanks, Jim, for the photo.

Intense.

Walks after walks to nail down the timing.

INTENSE.

INTENSE.

After our practice period was done, we got a whole of time..waiting.

Some sat around the restaurant, some went out, and some watched over the booth.
Waiting is, perhaps, the only reason that can make time feel a lot longer than it really should be.

Eventually, it was our turn.

Crowd ready.

Sae’s collection:

Yup, I told ya.

Amazing people.

Check here for the video!

Props to Rod from Speedphoto for the segment.

Last but not least, big thanks to all who came out:

Rachel was a thug.

The heros and heroines that definitely deserves more spotlight:
Big ups to Geoff, who designed the brilliant type motion.

Priceless.

and of course, the photographers and videographers.

Thanks, again! The show was a blast.
