Cisco & Bobbi Vie & Aroma Coffee & New peojects

San Jose for the day! Today’s been fulfilling. While I enjoy working at home getting stuff done, it’s always nice to walk out and meet people and expand my horizon on different perspectives.

Today’s Cody’s last day of his internship at [Cisco]. Before he returned his badge, I had to get a look inside, where all the magic happens.

↑ Cisco, the human network. Known for their servers and communication devices. To get a better idea of who they are.. in Transformer 2, remember the part when Megan Fox was chatting with Shia Labeouf via some internet cyber chatting device after Shia went to college? That device’s from Cisco.

This is one of the complexes where Cody works.

↑Building 20.

Receptionist? psh..that’s so 20th century. I was greeted by a monitor.

Cisco’s no abbreviation – it’s short for San Francisco.

Cody and new intern for Cisco – Josh.

↑Aside from his engineering skills, he’s a foosball all star.

Cody’s work space.

State of Art – something that brings tear and joy – tucked in the back of the lab.

↑ Josh was good, but I won. Despite the fact that it was just by 1 point. And Cody was on my team. Playing at the same time. While he was blindfolded.

↑Walls of routers, ready to be tested.

“This is madness.”

“THIS. IS. CISCO!!!!”

↑It was rather noisy in labs – ear plugs are essential.

After touring around Cisco, I met up with [Bobbi] at a cafe he picked.

Place’s called [Aroma Coffee], located in ESSJ. (Stands for East Side San Jose, just learned that abbrev. today. ha)

↑No joke. One of the best Vietnamese sandwiches I’ve tried.

↑The owner of the place. Real cool guy. He came up to me asking about headphones; he’s researching for the right pair for his kid. As the convo went on, I learned that he used to do wedding photography with film  SLRs(with 36 shots a roll – every shot counts). Respect.

↑ Remain mysterious. Nope, the mosaic’s staying even if you say “please”.
We had a pretty insightful talk – sharing perspectives and ideas. Though, I’ve been to [a couple of shows he hosted], we never sat down and have a good chat. It was truly inspiring to converse with a great mind, who’s also pursuing the riskier route to establish something of his own.

[Bobbi] dances, coordinates, plan events, teaches, runs on 3-4 hours a sleep a day. Best of all, he’s down to earth and not some egocentric snob. So, expect big things.

Now, I’m back at Cody’s place working on a few new projects.

↑This. is not one of them. Pretty awesome, though, yea? an 8 by 8 LED cube – still under development.

↑”This is madness.”
