LA Art Walk

Nope, I’m not in LA, nor was I the past two weeks.
Yes, I am, indeed, still making up the posts that I had from LA since three weeks ago (shame.) Although, my blog’s meant to fill you in with current news and these are certainly not current, I can’t bear to put them to waste. So bear with me.

Mickey from [Invisible Box] told me about the event just the day before it was hosted. The title was intriguing and pictures I saw online were promising. So while I was around the area, we took a trip downtown to check it out.

Adrienne came, too! Here’s the formula of a true photography fanatic: camera everything.

Quick stop to figure out where we were.

Just next to where we parked, we(Adrienne) spotted something rather familiar.

The place was pretty close to USC, a school with a phenomenal film program amongst others. It’s hardly a surprise to see film projects like these across town.

BUT.

What made this park extra special is this:

↑The same bench used for (500) days of summer. Ah, if only Zooey Deschanel  was there, too.

Continued our way downtown.

Cookies and Cream – a clothing brand based out of NYC and known for their mobile of goodies. Pretty cool to spot one of those in LA.

First gallery that we swung by:

Love these:

Props to the designer JSavlvador.

Perfectly fitting type face, right?

Anyway. MORE ART.
and strange things on the streets. Let’s go!

This is what I call a genuine 3D painting.

Customs: The details on these kicks are remarkable. Not only would I place these on my shelf, I’d put a magnifying glass right next to it.

Live model. Only at Art Walks.

It was a room with walls covered by large sheets of paper. A box of markers were placed in the corner, allowing people to interpret and write out the definition of “freedom.” Varies through out – some were romantic and wrote “your smile” right next to the girl. I was practical and whipped out my mobile dictionary and put up the first definition.

For Kyle, freedom means no lab. He’s an electrical engineer at USC. Comfort him when you seen him around, will ya?

Xzibit’s bike – Pimp’d out.

Giant mural by Ethos.

Alvin joined us. Time for dinner.

YES, food trucks. Actually, after going to quite a few food truck gatherings, I started to realize that the motivational factor’s been curiosity. Because I was intrigued, I was willing to pay a few extra bucks to try the different types of food they offer. Now, not any more. The food’s a bit pricey and often time stale because they’re out for so long. eh.

A burrito whose name escaped me.

I’ll call this anonymous fries.

Not much coverage on food. Moving on.

The room was crowded with people. We butt in to see what’s all the fuzz about. I’m not sure who the artist is, but he’s got a half naked assistant, so that’s pretty cool.

We magicians:

↑ and cat.

Folks with interesting headwear.

At Macy’s art gallery, there were mannequin painters.

Frame full of matches.

..and bills.

The Art Walk was interesting. Broaden my perspectives and inspired by all the master pieces I came across. People were drinking on the streets, too. So if you’re into any of the above, go take a look.
