This is how this project all came about:
↑ 2 years ago, I found these obsolete, yet vibrant, floppy disks covered in dust. I couldn’t just toss them away, so I turned them into a “collage”. Unfortunately, with my careless foundation of taping, they eventually fell apart; I even cracked the glass during the installation..
Back to the present, this is what happened:
↑Small cracks aggrandized. Woot.

..and now I”m left with these disks, again. Plus a frame without glass.

The inner layer of the frame retains its original wood grain color, which would originally be covered by whatever the picture it’s framing.
Now without the glass, I needed to cover it up.

I decided to keep the frame a frame.

And what to do with the disks?
Coaster, perhaps?
Except I’d end up with 30 coasters.
Then, after some research via the web, I thought they can turn into pen /tool organizer(s).
↑Quick sketch on the placement of each floppy disk. Good thing they’re squares, making things easier to align. I split the holder into 3-4 sections depends on the size of the objects it’ll be holding.

↑Always start from the edges – leaving enough room for the glue gun to seal the rest.

↑ 20 minutes later, I got a rough and crooked pen holder.

↑ Ver.3, with selective colors.

↑ Using a blade to cut off the excess harden glue.

↑ V.4 Happened to be in green goblin color way.

↑ In action!

Bam, recycling mission complete.
