AggieTV – Design Process

[Aggie TV] is the premiere student video and media production studio at UC Davis – and the main source of Davis’ current event updates along side with The Aggies newspaper. It was great privilege to help come up with an official Aggie TV shirt. And here goes the design process:

This is AggieTV from AggieTV on Vimeo.

Guidelines:
-Incorporate the new logo.
-Twitter blue for shirts.
– Rest was up to me.

↑Quick note.

↑The new Aggie TV logo. Simple and straight forward – you might think it’s strange to use a water tower, but for us Aggies, nothing’s more suitable than the water tower – it’s our landmark.

Here’s the first design idea:

↑Similar concept with the previous tennis shirt. Incorporate Aggie’s mane and tail on to the TV plus a few extra accessories to fill the design. Idea’s quite literal – being “Aggie. TV.” However, problem with this design was not being able to express the new logo fully.

Moving on.

Given the logo and having the water tower as our landmark – I came up with idea deuce.

Creating the 3D logo for the shirt:

↑I thought it be fun to redesign the tower with the new antenna plus the color change.

Final design:

Back design:

Aggie TV also [started a kickstarter for their upcoming project: Lip Dub. ]

↑ kickstarter’s a fairly new platform online for everyone with a low budget to start projects with the help of strangers who’s willing to chip in a few bucks – in return with some cool rewards. Sorta like groupon – the project will only be executed when reach a specified amount of funding, or else all previous pledges will be refunded. [Help make Lip Dub happen.]

A few incentives addition to your support:

With a pledge of $25 – you’d get Aggie TV stickers + button pack, name listed under special thanks and wedsite, and a collaborate tee between TIZ and Aggie TV. Not a bad deal.
