Parents been remodeling the kitchen. A crap load of trash were torn and brought out; so much of them the ordinary house hold trash cans wouldn’t do. The job was to transport all the junk to a nearby sanitary center. I throw out trash all the time, but never a time as intimate to the process as this one.
For the occasion, I brought out my cool shoes.
Here’s how much trash we’ve gotten:
Brother and Dad helped to get a truck full.
// Side note: Be sure to cover it up with cloth. Otherwise, the sanitary center would charge you extra for throwing trash.
We’re painting the house, too. That seem to be the uniform for it.
West Contra Costa County Sanitary Landfill.
The Hills have Eyes much?
A horizon of Solar power stations right next to it.
The gigantic dumper.
↑ Muddy residual from the trash that was left here daily.
Pictures can’t quite describe the place. The scent engulfing the place smelled like 2 month old spaghetti and milk that was left on the porch.
Every now and then, there’s an industrial loader pushing the piles of trash towards the open pit.
That was that.
Then I took a shower, headed off to SF for AIGA’s D-talk. The theme this time’s – Design entrepreneur.
We were given the first 30 minutes to “network”. Literally. (You can double check the last picture.)
I didn’t say a word to anyone. My bad.
Kevin made it, too.
He’s a cool guy to chill with, just look at what he’s specialized in..
Me, on the other hand, not so much.
The panelists this time, and i’m sure for every other times, are big shots.
↑Robert Brunner, the designer for the Beats by Dr.Dre headphones. One of the most expensive pair of headphones I know.
↑ Then, there’s Dor and Brian, owner of Super 7. It should sound familiar to you SF peeps, it’s the store with cool Japanese toys next to Japan Town.
↑ Clement Mok, former National AIGA president and a sushi restaurant owner.
Kevin mentioned to me, all the design talks sound similar: It’s always about feeling passionate, fearing nothing, and keep going. And it is true, it’s not a trend nor because they’re told to say so, but that’s EXACTLY what they did to become who they are today.
The note-taker’s done a great job.
Towards the end, Kevin’s won an trial version of Adobe CS5.
↑ The 100 Dollar laptop.
