Japan – Global House Design Process

Melanie, a friend of mine from high school, is studying abroad in Japan right now. (NICE!)
She lives in the dorm that’s known as the “Global House”, in which resides the most diverse group of foreign and exchange students from all over the world.

They make tshirts annually. This year, I was invited to hop on board to come up with a design.(WOOT). Here it goes:

This is their dorm flag.

I was given almost all the creative space I need to do this one, except for the 1-color only guideline.

Here’s the sketch:

Globe + World -> Landmarks + Diversity.

So I made shapes of some popular landmarks.

And group them all together.

Hopefully, this’d serve the justice of the dorm!
