100 must tries in SF CHALLENGE! ..and the new Honda CR-Z

Michelle stumbled across this list, which made possible by 7×7, on things we must try in San Francisco. (Food related.) They listed 100 places to try for 2010. Wish me luck. Not on completing this challenge, but to not be too picky afterward.

First stop.

Ike’s place.
The exterior looks a bit sketchy. Perfectly fitting. The blue stood out among the residential building around it. No way you’d miss it.

Props on the creative sandwich names.

One thing you crucially for this challenge is..patience. Waits after waits. hot dam. It took us around 45 minutes just to order the sandwiches. (But i heard you can actually order the sandwiches online.)

Came with chips.

Spotted Ike.

..then another 20ish minutes to receive our sandwiches. (should’ve ordered the sandwiches online. Here’s your example, don’t be a noob now.)

A bit pricey for a sandwich.

BUT IT WAS SOOO GOOOD!
..especially Fat Bastard. I think I picked out the least healthy one on the list.

Ham, bacon, Cheese. All kind of just burst out in my mouth. Sandwich heaven? Yes, please.

Our next round of challenge isn’t till 5PM, so we decided to head towards twin peaks, since we were around the area.

TWIN PEAKS.

And guess what?! Latest Honda CR-Z commercial in the making.

It’s a slick looking ride.

Heading towards downtown.

Our second stop’s at…

Little that I know, there’s a whole shopping center within one of the ferry buildings.

Heard Blue Bottle Coffee’s pretty good.

Want ice but not dilute the whisky? Try whisky Rocks.

..then I saw this car. Help me out:

Michelle was really into it.

Second stop!

Hog Island Oyster.
It’s a really tiny place. The place was flooded with people when we arrived. (They have happy hour Monday & Thursday 5pm-7pm) You have to place your name down and wait to be called.

Menu was pretty neatly designed. Their cuisine’s pricey. (thank god for happy hour)

What did I say about patience? We walked around for another hour before we got called.

So fresh. None of that extra sea/fish taste. Smooth down the throat.
We ordered 12. The waitress was SHOCKED. Apparently no one order this little. oh well.

especially good with a pint of beer. that’s what’s up.

The clam chowder the list recommended. Ver’ nice. $14’s rather high, but a must try. I wouldn’t order this every time I visit, though. I’d stick with the oysters.

The waitress was right, we ordered a second round.

The place was good, but I wouldn’t recommend for a dinner plan. More like a quick, disregard the waiting time, snack.

That was it. The wrap of the 1st day of the challenge. REALLY satisfied.

Now, on the other hand, an exercise for you.

I snapped this photo during the day trip.
C’mon, you know it’s got something on its mind peering towards the sea on a Monday afternoon like this.

My dear readers, be creative and leave what you think it was thinking.
